چکیده
The objective of this study was to isolate active alkaloids from the Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae (BFC), to evaluate their anti-tussive to find the highly active substance from the BFC for further new drug development. Materials and methods: The BFC was extracted with chloroform: methanol and alkaloids were isolated by phytochemical methods. The anti-tussive activity was investigated using ammonia induced mice coughing. Results: The seven alkaloids (1)∼(7) were isolated from the BFC and the structure were determined. The seven alkaloids significantly inhibited mice’s frequency of cough induced by ammonia, increased mice’s latent period of cough and show activity dose-dependently. The inhibitions of cough number of these alkaloids are 65.33% (1), 60.28% (2), 35.06% (3), 37.26% (4), 56.37% (5), 57.80% (6), 59.07% (7). The results of the present study provide a convincing proof to put BFC as one of the most popular antitussive Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China. *Corresponding author: Dongdong Wang, Department of Pharmacogonosy, West China College of Pharmacy, Sichuan University, No. 17, Duan 3, Renmin Nan Road, Chengdu 610041, P. Antitussive, expectorant and anti-inflammatory alkaloids from Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae.
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the antitussive, expectorant and anti-inflammatory effects of alkaloids imperialine (I), chuanbeinone (II), verticinone (III), and verticine (IV), which were isolated from the Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae (BFC) using phytochemical method. The results showed that all the alkaloids significantly inhibited cough frequency and increased latent per...
متن کاملAuthentication of Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae by RAPD-derived DNA markers.
Bulbus Fritillariae is the most commonly used antitussive herb in China. Eleven species of Fritillaria are recorded as Bulbus Fritillariae in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae is a group of six Fritillaria species with higher efficiency and lower toxicity derived mainly from wild sources. Because of their higher market price, five other Fritillaria species are often sold ...
متن کاملIn vitro and in vivo antitumor activity of Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae and preliminary investigation of its mechanism.
Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae (BFC) is widely used in China both for food and folk medicine because of its powerful biological activities. Firstly, this study was designed to examine the antiproliferative activities of the different fractions from BFC in vitro by MTT assay. The results showed that chloroform extracts (CE) and the purified total alkaloids of BFC (TAF) exhibited stronger antiprol...

BACKGROUND Cancer is well known as a leading cause of death in the world. At present, it is the very active area to search for anticancer drugs from natural products. In this study, we evaluated the antitumor property of chloroform extract (CE), n-hexane extract (HE), water extract (WE) and steroidal alkaloids from the cultivated Bulbus Fritillariae ussuriensis (BFU) and its preliminary mechani...
